Dr. Ruth was born and raised in Canada before attending the University of Melbourne to attain a Bachelors of Veterinary Science degree in 2010. After graduation, she practiced in Australia at a busy country practice before deciding on a change of pace and lifestyle – making the move to Hong Kong in 2014.
Working at the SPCA (HK) in the position as Assistant Senior Surgeon allowed Dr. Ruth to see a variety of cases, further fostering the desire to provide animals and their owners with the best care available. As well as being a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Dr. Ruth has continued with post-graduate training in surgery (orthopedic and small tissue) and diagnostic imaging; a couple to note include the Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice through the University of Liverpool and the University of Sydney CVE Surgery course. She regularly attends continuing professional development courses in Hong Kong and internationally to keep up to date with all aspects of veterinary care.
Outside of work, Dr. Ruth likes to keep busy and enjoys an active lifestyle – hiking, swimming, and surfing are some of her favourite hobbies as well as travelling to new destinations when time permits.
